The Panasonic Trust Fellowships On 2 October 1997, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of Panasonic UK Ltd by generously donating a further £500,000 to the Panasonic Trust to enable it to broaden its activities in the professional development of UK engineers. Income generated by these funds was has been used to support the Panasonic Trust Fellowships since 1998. The objective of the Fellowships is to provide financial support to selected graduate engineers wishing to study full-time Masters’ degree courses in subjects with a bias towards energy, sustainability, infrastructure, environmental technology and water resource engineering. Nature of the Fellowship Each Fellowship has a financial value of £8,000 and is payable in two parts: £6,000 is paid upon registration with the remaining £2,000 payable upon successful graduation. Awardees who successfully complete their studies will be eligible for the award of a Panasonic Trust Silver Medal; those graduating with distinction being eligible for the award of the respective Gold Medal. Application procedure for 2010 The application consisting of a completed application form, two passport sized photographs and an up-to-date CV must be submitted no later than 30 July 2010. Any application received after this date or those which remain incomplete will not be considered for interview. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be notified by 7 August, with interviews taking place at the Academy’s offices on 19 and 20 August. Candidates must attend their interview in person; no telephone or video conferencing interviews will be offered. Final decisions will be made available to candidates from 24 August. Selection Committee The award of a Fellowship is entirely at the discretion of the Selection Committee with any decision of the Committee being final on all matters. Ian Bowbrick |
